flight. at 3:23 AM

The sun had just dipped below the horizon ,and the pink desert sunset was swiftly fading to a deep and dark night sky.She sat motionless in the car,she felt brittle. As if a single touch could shatter her into a million pieces. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath , trying to stop herself from crying.



She told herself."I have no where to go , i have no one to rely on.I am scared "



She blew through three red lights and hit an open highway,she felt dog- tired.She slumped down over the steering wheel , her head resting on her arms and her arms is resting on the steering wheel with a white knuckled grip.Thinking of the look at Kane's face.



She was frozen, unable to do anything but curl up in a ball in the front seat ,hug her knees to her chest and close her eyes against the darkness surrounding her.Tears were flowing from her eyes,her face was wet , sticky against the leather seat.



Her life was in ruins. She was reduced to rubbled. She had murdered someone.



She phoned Beth.



" Hello Beth , Kaia here"



" Hello Kaia, such a surprise, what's up?"



"Erm nothing I guess."



Another mistake. She threw the phone down, cursing herself. She just couldn't do anything right.She yelled



"Great idea , throwing yourself to her mercy." Kaia said to herself.



The night was fading and the detail blurring.She was afraid .She just wanted someone to lie beside her , hold her , whisper that he loved her and that everything would be okay. She did not need to know if her mother would miss her , or if her father would show care and concern to her. She just needed someone.



Most of the time Kaia hung to her memories of the past, to her heard-edge city persona. She hung to it with a death grips , for fear of forgetting who she was and where she had come from.She still remembered clearly how she had murdered Kane.



It was intense and it was sexy. She got what she wanted. His life, she could not stand. He had preyed on her weakness and duped her into a relationship based on lies.It was true , he had manipulated her. She was stupid enough to let him do it.She despised herself for her weakness. He was like a poison to her system,corroding the words.



She could nott believe she had once found this man adorable, fantasizing about his dark eyes and crooked smile. But after she had found out the truth, everything about him repelled her now. Even the accent seemed phony. No one should do this to her, no one had the power to toy over her feelings like a puppet. She was the one with the power. Nothing would h appen unless she wanted it to happened.



Kane used to tell her "We are two of a kind , kaia."



His words were icy , cold , detached , heartless.But now the memories flowed faster , bringing her back in time through the misery , through the pain. She had wished he was still alive. She did not desired for any revenge if she know this was the ending.She wanted to flee , flee from the reality.



She didn't want his forgiveness.

She didn't want him back

She wanted him gone.

Gone;but not forgotten.



She started her engine and headed for the sea. She remembered the first time he kissed her. It was a wet , sloppy kiss,short on romance , long on the breath and his trusting tongue. He was neither easy nor safe. He was a player. Life with him was a risk , everyday was a new challenge.



A loud explosion after the car had sunk into the sea. There she was, sinking into the deep sea. Together forever. It was a kind of promise made to each other,before they knew anything about a world that could tear them apart. It was such a naive vision of the future, pure and innocent promised.



Today,. Kaia was finally free.
